About Us

Andy grew up in Atlanta, GA, then moved to Oak Ridge, NC.  He graduated from High Point University with a degree in Human Relations, concentrating in Nonprofit Management
.  After graduation, he attended Wesley Theological Seminary and briefly pastored a United Methodist Church in Maryland.  He recently started a new career with the American Red Cross as an Assistant Station Manager on Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC.  He is enjoying his new job working in the nonprofit sector and is able to use his pastoral skills by taking care of soldiers and their families, both in the hospital and on base.  He is still planning to stay involved with the United Methodist Church and finish his Master's degree.  In his spare time, Andy is hoping to take up playing golf now that he is living in Southern Pines.  He is glad to be back in the south and is busy getting everything ready for Abi to make her way down to "the promised land".

Abi grew up in Texas and then her family moved up to Baltimore when she was 9 years old.  She has 2 younger sisters and 2 younger brothers (one of whom is also getting married this summer - on the 4th of July!).  She graduated from Harding University with a degree in Fine Art and Psychology.  She is currently staying busy working as an administrative assistant at an engineering firm (full-time) and as the Youth Ministries Coordinator at Mt. Hebron Presbyterian Church (part-time).  She is going to miss her church and her youth group students, and her family and friends a lot.   But she's looking forward to the future with Andy in North Carolina and the prospect of sweet tea and Sonic whenever she wants!

Crazy Car stories.....

Our first date was a fun dinner and long walk all over Washington DC (Andy was in seminary in DC at the time).
We had a good time and were both surprised at how much
time had flown by.  Abi didn't leave DC until nearly midnight.  She had only barely gotten on the beltway to go home to Baltimore, when a car stopped right in front of her in the
middle of I-495.  She slammed on the brakes and tried to swerve to miss hitting it, but couldn't stop in time.  She
wasn't injured (God is good and airbags really do save lives!), but was pretty shaken up.  She called the police and then
her sister, Katie, but knew that Katie wouldn't be able to get there from Baltimore for at least an hour.  The police said it would be a while before they could come and the guy who stopped in the middle of the road (who was thankfully
uninjured as well) was making Abi feel very uncomfortable.
So she ended up calling Andy, and he and another guy from the seminary came out to her rescue.  The police finally
came and declared that the accident was the other guy's fault and Abi's car got towed.  Her sister made it there to help out and make sure everything was ok.  It ended up being almost 4am by the time everyone was heading home.  All in all, it made for a very memorable first date!

On the night that Abi and Andy got engaged, someone broke
a window on Abi's SUV and stole her portable GPS (she was apparently a little too excited about being newly engaged to think about putting it away).  She is pretty lost without it...

Since Abi is not doing well with car issues on momentous occasions in their relationship, we're both a little concerned about something happening on the wedding day!  Please pray for safe travels for us and no car problems of any sort.

Perfect Love

Everyone longs to give themselves completely to someone.

To have a deep soul relationship with another,
to be loved thoroughly and exclusively.
But to the Christian God says, "No, not until
you're satisfied and fulfilled and content with living, loved by Me alone and giving yourself totally and unreservedly to Me, to have an intensely personal and unique relationship
with Me alone.

"I love you, My child, and until you discover that only
in Me is your satisfaction to be found, you will
not be capable of the perfect human relationship
that I have planned for you.  You will never be united
with another until you are united with Me --
exclusive of anyone or anything else,
exclusive of any other desires or longings."

"I want you to stop planning, stop wishing, and allow Me
to bring it to you.  You just keep watching Me,
expecting the greatest things.  Keep learning and
listening to the things I tell you.
You must wait."

"Don't be anxious and don't worry.  Don't look around
at the things you think you want.  Just keep looking off
and away up to Me, or you'll miss what I have to show you."

"And then, when you're ready, I'll surprise you with a love
far more wonderful than any you would ever dream.
You see, until you are ready and until the one I have
for you is ready, I am working this minute to have both
of you ready at the same time, and until you are both
satisfied exclusively with Me and the live I've
prepared for you, you won't be able to experience
the love that exemplifies you relationship with Me,
and this is perfect love."

"And dear one, I want you to have this most wonderful love.
I want you to see in the flesh a picture of your
relationship with Me, and to enjoy materially and concretely
the everlasting union of beauty and perfection and love
that I offer you with Myself.
Know that I love you.
I am God Almighty, believe and be satisfied."
